  • The making of:

    Volkswagen ALMANRA Concept

    1:6 scale hard model

  • The main body and the parts for vacuum forming are milled with a five axis CNC.





  • The glass body is vacuum formed in three parts with acrylic glass.





  • The wheels and some interior parts are 3d printed with a SLS printer.
    Other additional parts like the front lights with SLA printer.





  • When all parts are produced they are fitted together and adjusted.





  • Afterwards they got multiple layers of primer and were wet grinded.
    The window areas were also tinted with clear coat and black paint.





  • The interior is upholstered with fabric and some additional pillows are custom made from polyurethane foam.




  • A wooden appearance was achieved with a custom paint made of acryl and spray paint. Also more details like the logos on the wheels were added.





  • One last time the model ist masked for the final paint job made out of car lacquer and clear coat.





  • After assembling the final model was presented at the FH Joanneum degree show as well as at the Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg and at Virtual Vehicle in Graz.
