Senovės lietuvių dievai ir sakmės apie juos
(The world filled with wonders/The old Lithuanian gods and stories about them)
In the spring 2015, i was asked by very young publisher "700 eiluciu" http://www.700eiluciu.lt/ to join an new book project about old Lithuanian gods. I was very curious and happy to be part of such book as i didn't know much about this subject and it seamed like a perfect opportunity to get to know Lithuanian pagan religion bit more in details. In the beginning of the project i was aware that the time is very short (3 moths) and the amount of illustrations is very large. And with this awareness, i stepped in to commitment to create the illustrations. Never the less, soon enough i realized that time and the style i chose, is very difficult to combine. In the end i made 39 illustrations in the A2 size. So now, as the project is finished i would like to share some of my learning, that i take with me for the next project to come. Never underestimate given time for the wished quality. Stand by your own rules for the contract and always listen to your heart. I am happy with some of my works and yet, i see the potential if i had 3 more moths, or half of the number of illustration. So i feel bit sad, that i simply had no time to realize my ideas and imagination the way i saw it. In the book you will fined 39 illustrations and only 30 selected for the gallery.
All illustrations are created with pencil, watercolors, POSCA markers and Photoshop.
