The Global Biennale of Graphic Design is in it’s 12th event in 2016. To celebrate it, they launched an international call to designers, illustrators and visual artist to send Posters designed between 2014-2016 to exhibit in their activities.
You could send the Posters to 8 different categories. I chose to design a new one for the Category called “Mercy”.
They received around 17.000 works. My Poster was one of the selected
designs for the exhibitions taking place in Russia, Czech Republic, Germany, among other countries.
Brief: Mercy and forgiveness themed posters. 2016 – Holy Year of Mercy.
I decided to design a Poster based on a plasticine heart model I created before. The concept is “Having a good heart”, as i belived that only the people with good intentions were able to forgive and have a merciful behavior.
I thought it was a good way to try to inspire people into having this positive way of thinking.
I redesiged the heart I had, adding a lot of new features and adapting it to a proper enviroment to transmit the message I wanted.
Even though I’m not a religious man I designed the Poster because it was
a good challenge.
